Story

Our Head Teacher, at Michael Drayton Junior School, has always been there to support pupils and parents. On numerous occasions, has she organised events and fundraising at school to help those in need.

Now it's our turn to support a cause close to the family's heart.

At the beginning of November, our Head Teacher's twins were born prematurely, at just 24 weeks. Tragically, little Harper lost her battle after 4 days. Her little brother, Hugo, is a fighter and is currently being cared for at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwick (UHCW).

We can all imagine what a traumatic time it is for all parents within this unit and many mothers and fathers live at the hospital or spend a vast majority of their time there. To support the unit and the incredible work they do, we would like to help raise money to support parents through the purchase of simple items like a TV, tea and coffee facilities and similar, for a parents' room. We would also like to help fund a bell that parents can ring as they leave the unit with their baby.

The family do not wish for any support personally but want the unit to benefit and it is for this reason the family have asked for no flowers at their daughter’s funeral but donations for the unit instead as they continue to care for Harper’s twin brother Hugo.

All donations, however small, will be gratefully received and it will be our way of supporting and helping the UHCW unit that are doing such an incredible job in saving so many precious new lives.
