Story

Meadow Marys Rainbow Trust

A Beautiful baby girl Meadow Mary Cavanagh, at 19 weeks 4 days meadow had her first seizure, a devestating 3 after eachother. She later went on to have prolonged seizures (one even lasting 1 hour and 50 minutes) Meadow was diagnosed with epilepsy at 9 months old.

Our aim is to raise as much money as possible for Rainbows ABA Therapy and The Snowdrops Centre (The Alder Centre)

Five of us will be be having our super long hair cut short to help raise this money, the youngest just 9 years old

Due to the severity of Meadows epilepsy and the amount of time she spent in ICU meant that she was delayed in her development and struggled to hit age related milestones

Meadow then went on to sought help at home from Rainbows ABA therapy. Aside from offering therapy at home Rainbows also ran a holiday club for children who needed one to one care, which would not be available from a traditional nursery setting.

Rainbows allow children to interact with other children and take part in activities others would take for granted. Meadow absolutley loved it at rainbows and created the best memories over the last year. “She had the best year of her Life” - Mum

The cost of offering this specialist care to each individual child doesnt leave much room in the budget for new toys for the children which they so desperatly need. We would like to be able to donate toys to the holiday club, to bring as much happiness to the children attending as meadow was at her time spent there.

The Snowdrops Centre (The Alder Centre) are a team that provide practical and emotional support for families at an extremely distressing time after losing a child. Their services are available 24 hours 365 days a year for the families affected.

Snowdrops were amazing for Meadow and her family, their work and sensitive nature will never be forgotten and we would love to give back to them too.

We aim to raise money for the centre to go towards councelling for parents after the bereavment of their child. The centre offered an abundance of refreshments donated by volunteers which seems so trivial but at such a delicate time is so appriciated.
