Weʼve raised £40 to create a new FM local, community radio station in the Medway Towns!

    Gillingham, United Kingdom
Funded on Wednesday, 12th July 2017

    Story

The Medway Towns is where I live, and I am passionate about the community, and along with others we need our own voice and radio station.

The new radio station would -
    - Allow local businesses to advertise at affordable prices.
    - Allow charities and Voluntary groups to tell the community about the new ventures free of charge!
    - Give students, the unemployed and disabled people a chance to come and learn new skills, and help then get work.
    - Give opportunities for local singers and bands to have their music broadcast to the community, and help them on the way to stardom.
    - Promote local sports and teams that get no coverage on the radio presently.
    - Broadcast news and interest stories from the Medway Towns
    - Provide local shows for local people, and get Medway talking and engaging in important issues facing the towns.
    - Have Breakfast and Drive Time shows solely focusing on the local area, local road, local news and those who live in the community.
    - Create a real local radio station, and not be a 'local' radio station based in London or broadcast countywide programmes.

Please support our project, if you live in Medway then donate anything from a pound upwards, anything will make a difference.

The money will allow us to apply for an FM community licence, to find studios, buy equipment needed to broadcast, and then broadcast to the Medway Towns!

A streaming radio service is running at www.iceradio.org.uk for you to hear the type of music and what we could sound like on air!
