I've raised £1500 to volunteer at Kenyan orphanages and to help street children in Nairobi

Hi all - thanks for taking a look at my page!
In September this year I have the opportunity to travel with Volunteering Solutions to Kenya, to help street children and orphanages in Nairobi. These projects rely on year-round support of volunteers, providing care and education to children who depend on them. Volunteers are involved in all aspects of life within the orphanages from caring for children and helping with schoolwork, to assisting the orphanage with things like administration.
Volunteering Solutions offer long-term trips and short-term trips of two weeks. The latter enable those of us who work full time to still help to make a difference. Their projects are more affordable to undertake than most, however, there are still various costs involved such as; the program fee itself, application fees, flights, visa, CRB check, vaccinations etc. I am also hoping to donate some food and clothes once I am out there.
An example of how these orphanages are crucial is by taking in children who have suffered abuse, abandonment or have been orphaned in other tragic ways and providing them with a home and schooling. Many of these children would not have had a chance without their fundamental work.
I am therefore trying to raise something towards the cost of the trip to enable me to be able to go and provide the support they so desperately rely on. Anything received would be hugely appreciated and I look forward to sharing with you the experiences I have and the ways in which your contributions have helped.
P.s. The little boy in the photo is 3 year old Kamau - thanks to a VolSol volunteer for the photo!
