Baby Basics is a volunteer led project aiming to support new mothers and families who are struggling to meet the financial and practical burden of looking after a new born baby. This charity provides much needed essentials and equipment to mothers and families who are unable to provide these items. Items may include donated clothes, baby products such as nappies, shampoo, wipes etc. This is all given in a Moses basket which has a dual purpose since it delivers these useful items yet also acts as a place for the baby to sleep in comfortably. The main aim is to help these new mothers practically and generously and to give them the support they need to care for their new born.
Our NCS team have decided to choose this charity because we feel this is a worthy project which will benefit a multitude of people since the types of situations that these mothers are in is not uncommon. The help that this charity offers is essential to the safety and well being of the expected babies. Therefore, it is vital that we can raise the funding in order to assist these disadvantaged mothers. Our local Baby Basics is located in Dersingham, Norfolk; Just north of King's Lynn. However, there are Baby Basics located around the rest of the United Kingdom, so you can easily get involved. You could do this by donating second hand baby clothes and donating money online.
