Story

As many of you know, in 2017 I went to Uganda for a month with a nursing organisation. It was by far the most eye-opening and heartbreaking, yet amazing experience of my life.

In the last week of our trip, I stayed in a rural town called Kasamya. This town has very limited health care and general resources and many families live in poverty due to parents having no means of supporting their families. Many children and families are waiting support from charities that are already so stretched- children cannot go to school, a lot of them are lucky to get one small meal a day and they are unable to pay for vital healthcare. Somehow, despite such deprivation, this joyful community never fails to bring a smile to anyone's face- they completely stole my heart.

I made some absolutely incredible friends in Kasambya with the most inspiring people, and this October I will be heading back for a week to work with the charity KISS on an agucultural project; the project aims to teach the community farming and utilisation of land so that they can better support their families. I cannot iterate enough the importance of this project.

I will be travelling alone (which is terrifying in itself) during my annual leave from work and plan to do my utmost to help. If anyone can spare anything to help fund this project, I would be so, so, so grateful. I will definitely be posting updates on what they money is used for!

Please and thank you,
