I will be travelling to the Peruvian Amazon rainforest during the summer of 2017 with the British Exploring Society. Over 5 weeks I will put my physical and mental resiliance to the test in studying rainforest biodiversity and helping the local people of Sanvación to build a more sustainable lifestyle in the rainforest. This will involve building local amenities and planting crops in a way that helps to protect primary and secondary rainforest and, in the process, protect rare species of plants and animals.

I am studying A level Geography, French and Spanish at Ysgol Gyfun Plasmawr and I am really keen to use the knowledge and skills from my subjects to help protect the environment and cultural lifestyles in the Amazon basin. This is a cause that is very close to my heart and I would appreciate any help you could give, no matter how small.
