This winter I am working on a project in collaboration with Jimmy’s homeless shelter to raise money and awareness for the homeless. In Cambridge our statistics for the amount of homeless have been rising largely since 2010 and it has been revealed that the number of homeless people in Cambridge whom are dying on the streets is twice the national average for England and wales. I believe the leading contributor towards homelessness is mental health so this year with your support we will be raising money to provide care packages which shall consist of food, water, clothing, hand warmers, baby wipes etc. alongside this we will be looking to provide Jimmy’s with a permanent mental health team since they lost funding for their dual diagnosis team in 2018. We will be temporarily doing drop in sessions to provide some basic mental health support in the time being. I will also be applying for grants to support future work to support those in need.
