In October 2017, myself and 16 others are going out to India to volunteer in the New Delhi slums to spend a week with the children and the community providing education for those that haven't had the opportunity to go school.
Any amount you can donate - even if it is just one pound - will help me reach my target!
The money raised will go towards funding my trip, buying resources to take out which I will use when teaching. Donations will also go to the charity so that they can continue building centres which provides a safe place for children to learn, to eliminate urban poverty, improve health problems, environmental problems, financial inclusion and empowering slum communities.

The charity I'll be working with, ASHA, have built a small community within the slums that allows volunteers to bring school experiences to the children and young adults.
“ASHA means 'hope' in Hindi. We give people living in slum areas hope by allowing them to realise their potential, regardless of their background, caste or religious beliefs.
Around 600,000 people in more than 71 slum colonies of Delhi benefit from our work."

I will be working with the young adults teaching them different life skills as well as teaching groups of younger children and taking out resources that they can use and add to their future learning.

Why am I doing this?
Every child has the right to be in education, just because these children are growing up in slums, doesn't change the fact that they are still children and still deserve the chance to go to school.
I want to volunteer in the community that ASHA has built to contribute to their expanding education system and to share my teaching knowledge with others and work closely with the children.
