June 2018 myself and a group of paediatric students from London South bank university will be flying out to Uganda for a month, as part of our elective placement for our degree. This amazing, once in a life time opportunity will allow me to develop as a nurse but also a person. The money raised from a number of fundraising activities will go straight to three most deserving charities in Uganda; Uganda Hands, KISS and Kids Club Kampala. They help to provide health care, medical equipment, essential education and a safe place for these wonderful children to grow up in.
During my time in Uganda I will spend time getting an insight to acute and community health care and help deliver much needed health education to young people and their families.
