Story

blood transfusions, so you who donate blood- you are amazing! As many of my nearest and dearest know in April 2017 i went for a scan at 26 weeks pregnant and didnt come back out of hospital that day.

I was told that basically my insides werent fuctioning how they should be, my blood pressure was horrific and my placenta was dying, my baby couldnt breathe and if they didnt operate to deliver her she would die. I was given a 50/50 chance of her surviving. - as you can imagine my heart sunk and i went completely numb.

Within a space of 48 hours i was wired up, injected with steroids, pumped full of magnesium sulphate and cannulas put into my arms.

I cant really explain what was going through my head as it was all a blur but Without going into too much detail on here on sunday 23rd April i was taken down to theatre and a c-section was performed and my beautiful little Dink, Alice-Rose was born weighing a crazy 1lb 7oz.

she was the size of my hand, she was translucent, no nails, lashes and she reminded me of a little chick.

After 5 months of a rocky road, many times not knowing what was going to happen. If she would make it through the night let alone the day, being re-intubated, sedated, paralysed, lines put through her, cannulas on all extremeties with copious amounts of steroids and god knows how many other medicines in ITU and HDU she was able to come home ♥️

I cannot even begin to thank the William Harvey Hospital staff enough on the NICU department for all their help, kind words, hugs and keeping me some what sane, they work their bloody arses off and i do not for one second think they get the recognition they deserve, they are by far the nicest most amazing people i have ever met and i owe them my life!

They saved my baby, they saved my heart, and i will forever be in their debt for everything they have done for me. So...

as a small thank you i am fundraising for the NICU department and holding a fundraiser later in the year 2018 to help with costs towards equipment, blankets, clothes etc for the babies and families on their department, whether they are there for a few days, weeks or months. Whether they survive and get to see the world or end up growing wings i hope we can help the families going through what i can only describe as one of the scariest experiences ever.

thank you for your support xxx
