Story

At this stage of life where i have fulfilled my duties for my family, which are more independent now, ive decided to give more of my time in volunteering to many projects. Which i feel make a big difference to those that are less fortunate than us.one of the charitys i believe that make a big difference is moonlight trust.

Moonlight Trust is a growing local charity, founded by Noushin Raja in memory of her brother Moon, who was killed by a bunch of drunken youths in 2007. Though the charity was born from tragedy, today it is known for its tremendous humanitarian work and the quality of its projects supporting the world’s most vulnerable and deprived individuals, especially refugees. Starting from supporting homeless in Leeds, the charity has now delivered humanitarian projects in Greece, Turkey, France, Bangladesh, Middle east and Pakistan, ranging from sponsoring boat rescue missions at the Greek island of Lesbos, providing food, clothing, and medical support, to building shelters for Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. The projects delivered were sufficiently cost-effective as £21,000 was raised for Rohingya refugees and 100% of this was spent on aid. All the projects were delivered by volunteer staff including students and professionals from all backgrounds. The charity has also launched a new initiative supporting food banks in Batley and Dewsbury, since the demand for food banks has increased in the UK. They have been credited and recognised for their work at every level, from MPs to the mainstream media (BBC) and local communities. These are just a few of the many reasons to support this great local charity.
