Story

This is Samuel Jarvis. He is 9 years old and one of the smiliest kids I know he is forever beaming from ear to ear. Samuel has hemiplegic cerebral palsy due to a stroke before he was born and is unable to use his left arm. 18 months ago due to incredible support from family, friends and the community Samuel was able to have a specialist splint made to assist him in helping to basically create a second skin to help in his ability to use his arm. The splint they provide helps Samuel by providing a sensation and feeling to his arm to aid him into using it a bit more. It also helps him to be able to open out his hand which without the splint is permanently closed. The splint is partly made from kangaroo skin and is made in Australia so a specialist team flies over to the UK to measure Samuel up the go back to Australia make the splint and bring it back to him. Unfortunately this isn't something that the NHS fund. As you could imagine having this splint for 18months has made a difference to Samuel's abilities in his day to day tasks. Samuel is incredibly active he does karate 3 times a week, swimming, horse riding and is a keen football fanatic. Samuel has now outgrown his first splint which has made a substantial difference to him. The cost for his next splint is £2300. As before we couldn't not of been able to fund this without the support of everyone and we kindly ask for any donations that would be greatly appreciated in continuing Samuel's progress. We thank you immensely for your continual support. X
