Story

On 5th June 2018 our family suffered the heartbreaking loss of our Son, Brother, Grandson, Great Grandson, Nephew, Cousin and best friend Mark Kenneth Shawn Allen, who was just 18. He passed away in a tragic accident in the reservoir in Debdale Park, Manchester. That was the day our world and lives were changed forever.

It's hard to sum Mark up in words because there are no words that could explain just how great a person he was. There is nothing we could say to give you an idea of the amount of love he had for his family, friends, food, acting, the Eiffel Tower (or was it bins - long story!) and just life itself. We could never describe the impact that he had and still has on our lives. However, we can say this, everybody who had the pleasure of meeting Mark would agree, you could never be sad around him because he always found a way to make you smile or even make you laugh.

Therefore, in memory of Mark & to hopefully save another family going through this heartache, we are holding a fundraiser on Saturday 23rd March at The Lord Nelson pub, Hyde Road, Gorton, Manchester in conjunction with the Doing It For Dylan campaign, to raise money for emergency throwlines to be installed in Debdale Park. The day will be both a family afternoon with bouncy castle, face painting, raffle, tombola, stalls & games. Then there'll be an adults only evening with DJ, raffle, auction, buffet. Entry for the adults evening will be £3 and the family afternoon is free. More information will appear on our Facebook Event, Memories of Mark.

Please support our cause so that Mark will be remembered and we can save lives.

Thank you.
