Men Matter is based in Lincoln and has been set up to raise awareness and offer counselling for men who feel they need someone to talk too but find it difficult to speak to family and friends. I was in this position once myself, luckily for me my partner persuaded me to seek help, that was when i realised that the current services are so inadequate.

Did you know that men are much more likely to commit suicide, men really need your help to be able to access the services they need. While you have been reading this, chances are that a man has suicided, 84 men die each week unnecessarily, suicide is the biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK and if I can now help to save at least one man then that will be fantastic. After my own mental health issues I set out to become a counsellor myself and after four years of self funded training and now setting up counselling rooms it would be good to be able to put all the hard work to good use, of course I will see men that can afford to pay but there are those that can't and struggle to find help.

Why do I need to raise funds? - Well I have put everything I can into getting this far, consulting rooms cost a lot to set up and run and although I would like to be able to offer free counselling, I have to be realistic.

Anything you can give to help men in this area gain the help that they desperately need is greatly appreciated, currently we receive no funding from any other source.
