I've raised £2850 to buy reusable period products for all the girls in year 6 (2022/23) in Jersey

Every year, the average woman needs over 120 pads or tampons for period management. If the these products are not reusable, they end up in a land fill. An average one time use pad contains plastics equivalent to 4 plastic shopping bags.
In conjunction with Jersey Sustainable Period Products, who provide packs of sample sustainable period products for schools to show during PSHE lessons, we have embarked on a campaign to provide each Year 6 girl with a free reusable period pad. From the funds raised during the inaugural Menstrual Cycle in May 2021, topped up by Soroptimist International Jersey, we distributed free reusable pads to 575 girls, purchased from the social enterprise Hey Girls!.
Our target for school year 2022/23 is to distribute reusable pads to 570 girls who will be in year 6 starting September 2022.
A re-usable pad and carrier bag costs £5.00. Our target is to raise £2850.00. Donate to buy one pack £5.00 or as many as you would like.
Join us to do a run, walk, cycle or ride 28 miles, 2.8 miles, or 1 miles for 28 days in May to help us raise funds. Or come along to Les Quennevais Cycle Track on Sunday 29 May 11.30am - 1.30pm to cycle or walk 28 times round the cycle track!
Why 28? - 28 is the number of days in an average menstrual cycle.
