We are both passionate about mental health. Hally is a mental health nurse that has started this fund raising, as she has seen the devastation that this pandemic has caused on so many people in her care. Not only people already suffering from a mental illness, but everyone who has been effected by 2020 and the Covid.
Caring minds is the trust charity for Birmingham and Solihulll Mental Health Trust. The trust operated over 40 sites throughout the Birmingham and Solihull areas to provide a wide range of inpatient, community and specialist mental health services for service users of all ages. Hally and Rosie will be selling these beautiful handcrafted soapstone hearts, made in Kenya. The kisii Soapstone is mined in the south-western part of Kenya, not far from Lake Victoria. First the raw stone is mined from the quarry and cut into manageable blocks. Then it is grated and rasped to the final shape by the artisans in the workshop. Before dyeing and incising begins each piece is sanded until it meets all of the demands on quality. Consequently dyeing is done and patterns are incised with a very sharp knife. Finally the product is polished with natural wax to create these beautifully finish products.
Your help goes a long way and we really appreciate anyone that can help us reach our charitable goal!
God Bless you all
