Like many others I've lost people close to me over the last 12 months. There is a feeling of helplessness when you lose someone but I can't imagine how much more the pain is when you are able to save that person or treat them but simply cannot afford their care. This is the reality for millions of Egyptians today who face hard times. Mersal Foundation is one of the charities that is offering a glimmer of hope in what is an otherwise dark time by offering healthcare to many who are destitute and have no other options.
