I am a member of Messingham Village Hall committee and also event co ordinator for Messingham Martial Arts. 

On 5 September the Tour of Britain cycle race will be passing through our village. As a village we are very excited about this and are starting to plan how we are going to celebrate this. 

Our first job is to decorate the village in preparation. The council have provided us with some old bikes which we can decorate to display around the village. 

We have arranged various competitions with the school, pre school and the martial arts club for the children to design a bike. 

We have arranged a day in the summer holidays for the children to come to the village hall and decorate the bikes. 

We would also like to provide craft activities and possibly make some bunting for the village, but we are short of funds to support this. 

So we are asking if there is any support available for our events in the village for the children to become involved in this exciting event for our village
