Flushing Methodist Chapel Development - Planning Appeal by Mr Tom Rowse
As many of you know, the planning application to convert the Methodist Chapel on Kersey Road into three dwellings was refused last year.
Mr Tom Rowse (for the Methodist Property Committee) has appealed this Planning Decision, which will now go on to Planning Inspectorate. This will be done using an exchange of written statements with a deadline of 30th of June 2021.
Details of the original planning application and the appeal can be found on

It is the view of the majority of local residents that this development if it goes ahead in this current form, will adversely affect their residential amenity.
I have read the submissions made in support of the appeal, which has been prepared by credible 'expert' consultants on behalf of the appellant.
The two main submissions (Appendix A & B of Appeal) appear at first sight to make a strong case for the appeal to be upheld.
However, the submissions do not reflect the real situation which faces us.
We believe we need professional help to assist us in making our views and arguments known to the planning inspectorate.
Currently, we are looking into the most appropriate type of help, and it is likely to be at a cost.
However, because of the situation's urgency, we are starting a crowdfunding appeal to fight this damaging development proposal.
We will probably come back to you for further help in terms of perhaps volunteering to assist in traffic surveys or writing additional objection emails and letters.
In the meantime, please can I ask you if you object to this proposal and want your views heard by the Inspectorate to donate whatever you feel to be appropriate.
