Imagine being a healthcare professional at Manchester Children's Hospital, rushing from one emergency to the next, carrying the weight of life-and-death decisions on your shoulders. Now picture the parents of critically ill children, unable to leave the hospital for days, weeks, or even months, their worlds shrinking to the confines of a ward as they stand vigil by their child's bedside. ART VR is supporting Manchester Foundation Trust – Children's Hospital to create a revolutionary wellbeing room that will serve as a much-needed oasis for both staff and families. This isn't just any room – it's a gateway to tranquility, powered by cutting-edge virtual reality technology and adorned with the inspiring artwork of Manchester's own Justin Eagleton.

Why This Matters

Our healthcare heroes and the families they serve are under immense stress. The toll on their mental health can be devastating, affecting not only their wellbeing but potentially the quality of care they can provide. By creating this wellbeing room, we aim to:

• Enhance staff well-being and prevent mental health disorders

• Foster a positive, supportive culture in the workplace

• Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion

• Indirectly improve patient care by supporting staff wellbeing

The ART VR Experience

ART VR is a therapeutic aid that transports users to their "happy place" via a virtual reality headset. Our pilot studies have shown remarkable results:

• Reduced heart rates and blood pressure levels

• Significant stress reduction, even after brief sessions

• Staff reporting feeling refreshed and more capable of handling their demanding roles

Staff came out of the experience asking when ART VR would be returning.

A Room Designed for Everyone

This wellbeing room will be a sanctuary for all, supporting neurodivergence and accommodating all disabilities and sensory needs. It will be equipped with:

• State-of-the-art VR headsets

• Comfortable, adaptable seating

• Soothing lighting and sound design

The Artist's Touch

The talented Justin Eagleton, a renowned Manchester artist with over 30 years of experience, will transform the room with his emotionally engaging artwork. Justin's diverse portfolio includes work for high-profile clients and portraits of cultural icons. His involvement ensures that the room will be not just functional, but truly inspiring.

Your Impact

By contributing to this fundraiser, you're not just donating money – you're giving the gift of peace, resilience, and hope. You're helping to create a space where:

• A nurse can take a few minutes to recharge before a challenging procedure.

• A doctor can find clarity and calm after a long, demanding shift

• A worried parent can find a moment of escape and return to their child's bedside refreshed.

Every pound you give goes towards building this vital sanctuary in the heart of Manchester Children's Hospital. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most.

Help us bring this vision to life. Donate today and be part of creating a beacon of calm in the storm of critical care.
