My name is Mia and I am 14 years old. Next year I have been given the amazing opportunity to visit Cambodia with my school. We are going to spend four weeks travelling to 3 different locations within the country, helping the communities nearby whilst staying in rural camps and learning the Cambodian way of life. We will be helping with building projects at local schools, also teaching the children English, as only 20% of the children there have any chance of getting an education, which we want to help to improve, and make a difference to their futures. I will be in Cambodia during my 16th birthday and I am sure it will be one to remember for the rest of my life. Whilst I am there I am hoping that not only will I make a difference to the lives of the Cambodian people, but also towards my own, developing life skills while I am helping people that are less fortunate than I am. Sadly, a 1/3 of the population live below the poverty line, meaning some families live on around only 60p a day. I am asking for help with my fundraising, so as a team we can improve this and help the communities out there that need it the most.
During the upcoming months I will be doing a wide range of different fundraising activities, from car boot sales, cake sales, runs and car washing.
