I've raised £4000 to help provide little Eliza with the life saving equipment crucial for real time monitoring of her Glucose levels.

Eliza was rushed into hospital this Christmas (2017) after her pancreas stopped producing insulin. Because of this her blood became poisonous and started attacking her organs. She was hours away from intensive care and a life threatening situation but luckily was caught just in time. Type 1 diabetes is a condition that needs constant monitoring - for life.
All was going well after leaving hospital until Eliza had a seizure. Caused by hypoglycemia the seizure put my brother Tom in a situation that I could not imagine. Eliza stopped breathing. Tom gave Eliza mouth to mouth resuscitation allowing the paramedics to take over on arrival. Thankfully Eliza pulled through like a warrior but scared all the family half to death. The NHS are amazing at providing most everyday equipment crucial for injecting insulin and manual monitoring but this is limited. What is not available is resources to provide real time monitoring.
After the fit Tom set out to get the best available care for Eliza no matter what the cost. He immediately paid for a device which has been brilliant. The unit is the key to limiting the current and future effects of Type 1 allowing accurate continuous glucose monitoring. The system provides real time data every 5 minutes via a needle attached to a device on Eliza's back. It sends data to Tom's phone, tablet and watch that will enable him to prevent emergency visits to the hospital and maintain a good quality of life for Eliza.
Our Target of £4000 will pay for the Dexcom G5 device with all associated sensors, transmitters, and pads for the next two years!!
