I've raised £1000 to Michaels 2019 English Channel Swim

As you may know, I like to swim!!! I have swam in many events over the past few years, always for pleasure. Now it's the big one! I am attempting to swim the English Channel in August (weather permitting). This is a major challenge that excites and scares the hell out of me!
Swimming the Channel is tough, statistically more people have climbed Mount Everest, than have successfully swam the channel. It's going to be hard and there are so many variables, but I am committed. I have been through a very challenging training regime in order to prepare myself to be as ready as I possibly can. Here is an example of a channel swim and conditions: https://www.facebook.com/BigRicks4Way2018/videos/2409195669355126/?v=2409195669355126
I do not usually raise money for events, and there have been many. This time there is a reason to raise money that is close to home.
Little Orlagh is the daughter of a friend, a 3 year old twin. After being unwell for afew weeks, her parents were told the worst news possible for any loving parent. Orlagh was diagnosed with Stage 4, neuroblastoma. Since March this year Orlagh has undergone numerous rigourous treatments. She is a little fighter and is battling away, despite her age and size.
As a parent I can only imagine how tough it must be to watch your precious young daughter going through the treatment required. In addition to the emotional trauma, there is the financial pressure they now find themselves in. Tony (Dad) is self employed, while Tracey is a full time mum with their 3 other children, Emilia, Isaac and Tom to support.
Tony is now spending all his time looking after Orlagh, staying by her side through all her hospital stays, while Tracey (mum) keeps the family in as normal a routine as possible. The financial impact of this only adds to the extremely challenging pressure they are under.

With your help we can offer some support and help this amazing family who are doing all they can to get through this extremely tough time in their lives. Please help if you can, every shekel helps! I will be swimming with Orlagh and the Keanes in my heart. Please support where you can.
Thank you so much for your support. Wish me luck!
