    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

My friend Kristine and I would like to set up a charity to ensure no child goes hungry during the summer school holidays. Kristine pointed out a similar scheme in Spain and asked why the U.K. Didn't have something comparable. Users simply text a postcode and are directed to the nearest centre which provides their child with a simple but nutritious meal. I thought with the rise of food banks there must be a need and so I'm fundraising to set something up. Maybe supermarkets can donate food etc. I'd be grateful aside from funds for people who have useful expertise in this sort of area to make contact. I'm sure we can help and provide a worthwhile service to less fortunate families.

I'm a teacher from London and with recent events decided to give something back that's positive after recent terrible events I think we all need to make positive steps to redress the balance. I work with children so decided this is an appropriate thing to try and do.
