Story

Dad’s funeral will be on Wednesday 22nd November, 2pm at St Peter's Church, Didcot. Everyone is welcome. Flowers can be sent c/o M&J Didcock Funeral Service, Park Road, Didcot, OX11 8QL. Donations if you prefer for a teenager called Ellis who my dad met in the haemodialysis ward at the Churchill hospital. Meeting Ellis had a profound effect on my dad. He’s been living with kidney failure for many years and life is pretty crap for him. Dad hated being on haemodialysis, going up to the hospital 3-4 days a week and spending hours hooked up to a machine, and he only had to do it for a short time, plus Dad had lived a full life. This is not the case for Ellis and dad's heart went out to him. If we raise some money for Ellis to have a day out, or top up his mobile phone, or just binge on big mac and fries, I think dad would be pretty happy with that. Ellis is not a faceless charity and this would be what dad would have wanted.
