Weʼve raised £28,685 to help with the incredible costs to be borne by 2 of my good friends that are fighting cancer......

Funded on Tuesday, 19th December 2017

Don't have time to donate right now?

    Story

2 Guys fighting the same fight, 2 great guys, they don't know each other, but hopefully they will once I have done my bit for them. Both Motorcyclists, both musicians, both dad's, both top class people and both fighting cancer..........

Tony McGrail, Tony is my wife's uncle, he's my sailing mentor, he's a musician, a sailor, an engineer, a father, a Man United fan, a jack of all trades and a master of all of them, most of all he's my pal.....he's been through hell with Cancer and it's back, he needs help with the cost of SIRT ( micro bead treatment ) that the NHS no longer fund.

Tony with my son Luke at Old Trafford

Tony was diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma in early 2016, he underwent surgery to remove the tumour from his liver which went great, unfortunately with the regrowth of his liver has come multiple tumours to replace the original one..... Tony has qualified for Selective Internal Radiotherapy, but only as a self pay.... It's a very expensive undertaking.

Brian O'Connor - The BOC, a musician, a carpenter, a Father, an all round great guy, affectionately known to me as the harbour shark.....he's in california, you don't get anything for free in the states, he needs help with the incredible costs of his treatment.

Brian was originally diagnosed in 2010 with neuroendocrine Tumors and has been battling ever since, he now needs a more aggressive form of radiotherapy to fight the symptoms..

    BOC and his daughter Bree

I will undertake to walk La Ruta del Norte of The Camino de Compostela, it's a 950 km pilgrimage walk from Irun to Santiago de Compostela, I'll endeavour to do this within 4 weeks with a tentative start date of October 16th, anyone that wants to join me even for a couple of days along the route are more than welcome to, I'll keep everyone updated on my progress via my Facebook page and here of course.

Please give generously folks, help me to make a difference for these 2 top guys.

Day 31 - Pt7 - The journey was over, it felt to me like the end of a tour and I would be home tomorrow, I can’t wait to see Izzy my granddaughter! Thanks to everyone that have followed my journey over the last 31 days, for your wonderful words of support. For those of you who can find a small donation and haven’t already, please help me to push the fund on. The reason for my walk was to raise funds, I hope the effort and the updates have entertained you enough that you could see your way to helping me to help these 2 guys. Bless you all xx

Day 31 - Pt6 - We headed down the hill into road works and a Camino deviation, nightmare time! We were at 38km already and by the time we had trudged around to the other side of the city along the road and finally walked into the Plaza de la Azabacheria, it was 46.1km, not what I expected or had prepared for, but we were there! The Cathedral was beautiful, but under construction/repair, so not in full view. After taking the atmosphere in for a few minutes, I went off to find the Oficina de Acogida al Peregrino, to validate my Credencial!
