£500raised of £500 target by 13 supporters

Weʼve raised £500 to help with development projects in local community schools in rural Tanzania.

    Arusha, Tanzania
Funded on Thursday, 1st November 2018

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

I'm going to be part of a school charity trip to Tanzania at the start of lower 6th. There are many poor standard schools in rural Tanzania and this leads to local children often receiving little or no education. Education is fundamental because it opens children's minds to what can be achieved, and provides them with the tools to be self-reliant in adult life.

As part of the fundraising I will be doing a coast-to-coast mountain bike ride in Scotland this summer. I will be grateful for any donations or sponsors however small as it will all add up to make a huge difference. The bike ride will take place over six days, entirely off road and without a support vehicle. The trip itself will be self-funded, so all of the donations will go towards our development fund for Tanzania..

With the money we are raising we can improve schools and other local facilities, so that the teachers can focus on education and equipping children for the future. What development work we do will depend on how much money we raise. Our projects can range from painting classrooms to building classrooms so with your support we can make a huge difference. Just completed the second day of the bike trip. The first day was from Fort William on the west coast of Scotland to Invermoriston, on the shore of Loch Ness. The second day was to Laggan, across the gruelling Corrieyairack pass, where we didn't see a soul for 5 hours. Amazing scenery on both days, really worth the effort. Also spotted some rare wildlife including red squirrels, a stoat and an adder!
