Story
I would like to take a few moments of your time. I would like to tell you about a colleague and a friend.
For those of you that don’t know Tracey, let me tell you a little bit about the person she is. Regardless of how she feeling Tracey will always give her support to other people. Tracey has trained to become a Macmillan End of Life Councillor. Not only that, Tracey was assisting in the Glasgow Food Bank helping distribute food to those less fortunate. Tracey was doing this and her day job.
Currently, Tracey is off work. The condition that she has been with her for many years and recently has taken her to a point of excruciating pain.
Tracey’s health issues started after the birth of her son 18 years ago when she was advised by doctors to opt for natural childbirth instead of caesarean. Following the birth and complications, the doctors advised her to have a mesh implant to “resolve the problems caused by childbirth”. For those who have seen this in the news, you will know that this wasn’t a success and has left many women in awful, crippling pain. After suffering for many years the NHS then gave Tracey advice on corrective measures. This option has left Tracey in even more pain and discomfort than she was beforehand. Tracey has now been given a ray of hope. There is treatment available in America that has shown positive results for cases like Tracey’s. The process, unfortunately, costs £20000.
This is where I need your help. I would like to help get Tracey to America to get her mended. The South Team is looking to ride from the East Coast to the West Coast-ish.
Monday 4th October:
Chris and Emily Warne will start the day in Bexley Heath and ride to Broadstairs.
Matt Wyatt is cycling from Brighton to Bournemouth.
Due to the current fuel issues we have postponed half of the event until the following week.
Monday 11th October
Matt Topping and Michael Toes will be cycling from Broadstairs to Brighton.
Neil Parker will ride Bournemouth to Bristol.
We are looking to raise the funding so please can you share the link to the just giving page. Please feel free to organise your own events to support getting Tracey to America and on the mend.
