As most of you are now aware from local media reports, the donations box at Michaelswood was vandalised over the weekend.

This mindless act of vandalism has touched many across Shetland with people wanting to help out, donate and contribute in any way they can.

Michaelswood was created by Ray and Betty Ferrie in memory of their late son Michael. It is an extremely popular place for Shetlanders and visitors alike.

I have permission from Mr and Mrs Ferrie to set up this Justgiving page to allow anyone who wants to contribute to Michaelswood to help replenish the funds stolen from the Donation box, buy a new box and install a CCTV system at the gate to deter people from this sort of thing in the future.
