Story

We are trying to raise money for Kathy to hopefully improve her quality of life. Kathy is a 45-year-old lady who 19 years ago suffered a terrible motorbike accident which caused severe compound fractures to all the bones in her leg and her knee cap consultants put her leg back together with steel rods, pins and plates. Kathy was told she wouldn’t walk again but being the strong-willed women that she is after 2 years of hard work walked.  Unfortunately, 4 months ago her leg started giving way and wouldn’t support her anymore and after an emergency trip the hospital we were dealt a terrible blow Kathy's leg was past repair she had 2 knee fractures and tri compartmental arthritis throughout her entire leg the pins that were holding her leg together had also snapped and we were told Kathy would unfortunately have to have an above the knee amputation we were devastated and knew our life would never be the same. We met the surgeon and the prosthetic team a few days later to be told an above the knee amputation isn't straight forward surgery and Kathy would never be able to walk properly ever again unless we can raise the £25,000 to buy Kathy the prosthetic limb that most veterans must have its got an on-board computer system that allows it to bend at the knee and work like a proper leg for Kathy to be able to go back to the job she loves and live the rest of her life to its full potential.
