'Health is your wealth' is something I believe in, and having good health is a balance of the physical, mental and emotional parts of ourselves.
Every shift as a nurse presents patients who suffer poor health. When we can see the cause It's easier to treat, but for many of our patients the cause is unseen and all too often the person has turned to drugs or alcohol and has become a social problem.
Brothers in Arms ( brothersinarmsscotland.co.uk ) is a local charity aiming to support men who are going through a crisis in their lives, to prevent suicide by giving them a lifeline.
Although this is a just giving page, my main aim is to raise awareness ( hence the reason for having my hair shaved! )
And so I ask you all to share their website with all your friends and ask them to do the same.Many of us will already know a man in our lives who could benefit from some of the support Brothers in Arms offer and many of their friends, relatives and colleagues.
If it helps one man find support to help him through his crisis then it'll have been very worthwhile.
