My name is Michelle and i am currently doing my masters by research in Psychology.

I'm running a project looking at long distance relationships, hoping to interview people who are in long distance relationships and dig deep down into the core features, benefits and issues that accompany them.

I am hoping to travel around to find people in both extreme long distance relationships (i.e. across continents) and moderate long distance relationships (I.e. across counties) and investigate how they find satisfaction in their relationships.

Long distance relationships are increasing around the globe as advances in technology are allowing people to meet and communicate online with ease. Academia has largely ignored long distance relationships since the 1990's and with new advancements such as Skype and Whatsapp many of these studies are now obsolete.

The money raised here will be used to travel to meet participants and hear their story, what works for them and what challenges they find. This research would then be used to help others in long distance relationships learn that they are not alone in their struggles, and give them advice on how to make their relationships stronger and healthier.
