I've raised £200 to spread awareness of placenta accreta/Increta/Percrita. And raise funds to support the Hope for Accreta foundation and ysbyty Gwynedd scbu

My name is michelle and im 36 years old. I am mother to three amazing children, my set of twin boys (8) and my miricle baby girl (9 months). At 28 weeks pregnant i was diagnosed with a rare pregnancy compication called Placeta Accreta, a condition which affects only one in 5,000 women. Placenta accreta is where the placenta attaches to the wall of the whom and can continue to grow into the bladder, bowels and other organs. This condition meant i had to spend 5 weeks in hospital prior to my baby girls birth and then undergo a five hour operation while awake to bring my baby girl into the world. So much preparation and planning went into my operation and I can never thank the team of 20 doctors surgeons and nurses enough for getting me through it. I ended up having a hysterectomy in order to stop major blood loss and my little girl spent a week in the special care baby unit at ysbyty gwynedd being taken care of by another amazing team. Prior to and after my baby girl's birth I was given support and advice from the help for accreta foundation which is a network of women who have been through and are going through the same thing i was. I can't express enough how much it helped to know I wasn't alone at this terrible time. Me and my little princess poppy are now home happy, healthy and loving every second of our time together. I now get to watch my beautiful children grow up and enjoy my life and family. Unfortunately not everyone is as lucky as I was and don't make it through this awful condition mums loosing babies and babies loosing mummies. To raise awareness and in the memoriee of all the mummies and babies lost I will be climbing Snowden this September, I am hoping to raise funds to donate to the Hope for accteta foundation and ysbyty gwynedd special care baby unit and most importantly making people aware of this condition as getting diagnosed is half the battle won any donation would be appreciated so these amazing people can continue to do the work they do thank you for taking the time to read my story.
