Story
I am running a half marathon to help raise funds for Sean`s place. I have ran one half marathon before and after it announced my retirement from running as I found it so tough, just look at the cover picture for proof and this was only after 10k. But this year too many men in my life have suffered with their mental health and I want to try and make some sort of difference and this is the only way I know how.
At Sean’s Place their aim is to improve men’s mental health and well-being across Sefton and Liverpool City Region through sessions specifically identified to improve confidence and self-esteem for men whilst reducing symptoms of depression, stress and anxiety. Now more than ever we need to challenge the stigma around male mental health, they do this by providing a place that encourages positive discussions around mental health, in a non clinical, non judgmental setting through a variety of practical, proactive support and programmes.
