I've raised £20000 to help fund Mpower People CIC's running costs - to allow us to continue to support our disabled clients.

Mpower People CIC is a non-for-profit social enterprise Community Interest Company. Mpower People CIC provide activities which empower individuals towards living healthier, more independent lives, relating to increasing sustainable employment opportunities, enterprise development or personal development.
Michelle Smith founded the company in April 2009 when she identified a need in the Community, to create youth opportunities for the young people of Toxteth and Kensington. We were then able to deliver employment support (Michelle worked as a Volunteer as an experienced employment coach to deliver job-cafes in the Community), and youth provision, such as Dance workshops and general youth engagement and support.
Michelle Smith has an extensive track record of Community and Voluntary sector work, as she has been working in this field since the age of 14 culminating in being invited to attend a Royal Garden party to recognise her work.
In November 2011, Michelle was recognised as one of the Future 100 young social entrepreneurs who were changing the face of everyday business and improving commerce’s impact on the wider world, from The Future 100 Awards organised by Striding Out, sponsored by Ernst and Young. In May 2013 Michelle was awarded the one of the Future 50 young social entrepreneur awards. Michelle is now too old to win any more "young" awards!
Through the Big Enterprise in Communities (BEiC) programme, Michelle supported 134 people from deprived areas to explore enterprising skills and ideas, of these over 50 people started their own businesses between March 2013 and October 2014.
Michelle is currently working fulltime - but funding for her wage finished in April 2017. We are seeking funding to allow Michelle to stay within Mpower People CIC and continue to deliver services to and support our disabled and clients with learning difficulties.
Activities that would continue include:
Art Therapy
Computer Club
Volunteer Opportunities
