Story

Over the years I, like many of my other friends, have struggled with crippling anxiety and at some points deep depression. After hearing about Speak Up Nottingham (www.speakupnottingham.org ), I felt like this was a charity that spoke to my soul and I am interested to watch it grow. I really feel that in ensuring kids 'Speak Up' from a younger age and get to grips with the importance of understanding mental health, we could see vast improvement as they grow into adults - it's a sort of 'prevention and not a cure' attitude.

Here is a little about the charity and I look forward to any contribution you can make for them in me doing the Robin Hood half marathon on 24th September:

We are a non-profit organisation with the aim to ensure that more children and young people are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to understand the importance of having a healthy mind. We stand with schools, colleges, families and young people across Nottinghamshire to support and allow the public to SPEAK UP about mental health by running workshops and offering an online platform where young people's voices are heard.
