I've raised £100000 to support the neurosurgical ward at Royal Stoke University Hospital. Mick Extance is returning to the Dakar in 2020 to make that happen.

In 2017 Mick was diagnosed with a brain tumour and subsequently underwent 14 hours of surgery. The drive to recover from this came from Mick’s love of riding bikes and so began the journey to Dakar 2020.
“You never know what life is going to throw at you,” said Mick, “but I feel as though I have been given a second chance and I intend to do something positive with it.”
By competing in the world’s toughest endurance race Mick is hoping that he can motivate other brain tumour sufferers to keep on fighting and also raise lots of money for the neurosurgical ward at Royal Stoke University Hospital. Mick could not be more grateful to all the staff there and would like to give something back. Mick continues to receive treatment from this hospital to help him recover from his life changing condition and as a result of their support he is now able to compete in the 2020 Dakar Rally.
You will be sharing a very important cause with Mick and hopefully helping inspire others to never give up.
Mick is funding his journey to the rally himself, so all money raised on this crowdfunding page will go directly to Stoke University Hospital. However, if you would like to support Mick's rally preparations, you con donate directly to the rally fund by contacting rich@mickextanceexperience.com or call Mick on 01691 860886.
