Our local football pitch, which is used for Midgley United, Midgley United Juniors and other local teams within the Calderdale area has sadly been vandalised overnight, by what appears to be a 4x4 vehicle.

Unfortunately the damage is extensive, with deep tyre tracks covering a large area of the pitch, which in its current state would make the pitch unplayable.

It is midway through the season for all of the teams that use this pitch, meaning immediate repairs are required. However, given the level of damage caused, the repairs required will not be cheap.

It is hard enough to keep football teams running (for the enjoyment of local people), without having to deal with the financial implications of issues such as this.

We’re looking for donations to contribute to the repairs to the pitch, in the hope it will be in a playable state by 15th February.

Any donations, no matter how small are greatly appreciated.

A lot of effort from many volunteers across the local community goes into the maintenance of the pitch. This latest incident is a real kick in the teeth.
