Story
Hello everyone,
We are 5 firefighters based in hampshire and we‘re running the ’Brutal Midnight Mountain Marathon’ on 29th June 2019 for two amazing charities.
The firefighters charity provides care for injured firefighters and their families, some of us have experienced first hand the professional care and assistance they offer.
The charity could always do with extra help as they have no regular government funding, we’re running the ‘Brutal Midnight Mountain Marathon’ trying to raise as much money as possible.
A Band Of Brothers open (ABOB), another brilliant charity that could do with some extra funds, mentors young men who are involved or in danger of becoming involved in the criminal justice system.
ABOB have seen an 82% reduction in the severity of reoffending. The young men participate in a modern day rites of passage weekend followed by 12 weeks of being mentored.
The Midnight Mountain Marathon uses part of the ‘fan dance’ which is the infamous run taken on by potential members of the British special forces as part of their selection process.
This also includes an ascent of pen-y-fan (2,907ft) South Wales Highest peak! Starting at 5:30pm we have until midnight to get the whole team across the finish line.
With all that said, thanks for looking, wish us luck and feel free to donate as much as you can for these amazing charities, every little helps..
