Story

This page is dedicated to Helen Loswenstein, a midwife at Nottingham University Hospitals whose sudden, tragic passing has shocked us all.

Helen spent much of the past few years in Liberia educating communities in midwifery techniques. A new charity is being set up for initial midwifery training in Liberia which will raise funds to make grants to midwifery trainees who otherwise would not be able to afford to undertake their training to become qualified midwives. It will link to a new midwifery training institute to be named after Helen in Monrovia, Liberia.

The support and love Helen showed to so many people not just from her fantastic work in Liberia, but also the many lives she changed during her time at NUH deserves to be recognised, and so until the charity is formally set up with its own means of online donations, please make donations however small or large here.
