Story
"Our school children are getting active by cycling, running, walking or 'scootering' 1.4km or 3km around the Aquadrome (Rickmansworth) in aid of charity on Sunday 29 April!"
The Reddiford School PTA have joined forces with British Paralympic Athlete, Karen Darke (Gold & Silver medalist), to take part in her 'Quest 79' challenge. Karen just recently represented Scotland in the Para-triathlon at the Commonwealth Games in Australia and won 4th place. You can find out more about this inspirational person and the challenge here: www.karendarke.com/quest79/
A number of Reddiford children aged 2 to 8 (and even their baby siblings/parents) have taken up the challenge to raise a minimum of £79 each (we're also hoping for 79 participants)!!! The majority of the proceeds will go to the RNIB Sunshine House (blind school for children in Northwood) so that our children can begin to develop better links with local children's charities and learn the spirit of supporting other children who may be less fortunate than themselves. A smaller portion will also go towards Karen Darke's charity of choice, SIA (Spinal Injuries Association). Both are registered charities and the PTA (also a registered charity) will ensure the proceeds are distributed accordingly.
Please help our children put their 'best foot forward' and sponsor them to complete the challenge. No amount is too little but will go a long way. Thank you.
