Mike Martin, former England basketball star, is trading the court for the mountains in an extraordinary journey to Everest Base Camp, aiming to raise awareness for brain cancer and shed light on the profound impact of the illness. Martin, who was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2020, will be guided by explorer Bob Bhania, a former Olympic basketball referee, on this inspiring trek.

This remarkable expedition is not just about the physical challenge of reaching one of the world’s most iconic locations. For Martin, it’s a personal mission to prove that anything is possible, even in the face of life-altering diagnoses. The trek also aims to inspire and educate others living with or affected by brain cancer.
