Story

Please help child and adult victims of historical child sex abuse

Why me and why this line of investigation

I am a professional Private Detective – Lewis Legal Private Investigations.

I am qualified to EDI Level 3, registered with the ICO, hold full Professional Indemnity Insurances, I am experienced in evidence gathering and what is more, I am accomplished in my field.

In 2016 I following what initially appeared to be a simple obtaining evidence of lying under oath in a court of law case, I became involved in what would open up a whole new area of investigations for me and be-come my new passion.

What would I be doing?

1. Obtaining witness statements

2. Studying historical case files

3. Meeting the survivors and listening to their accounts and taking statements

4. Locating the offenders

5. Processing evidence in accordance with the law

6. If necessary attending at a police station where the survivor may be making their first disclosure

7. Preparing a case file to pass onto their legal team or an experi-enced firm in this line of work, whom I can trust to handle their case.

From my own experience I have discovered the following:

1. Many victims/survivors of historical child sex abuse have been let down by the police, authorities, family when it comes to fully inves-tigating their allegations.

2. Excuses ranging from lack of evidence, lack of resources to obtain that evidence, cannot locate the abuser and simply not being believed.

3. Many victims/survivors of historical child sex abuse simply do not have the funds to pay to have their cases re-opened or even investigated.

4. Evidence is there to be obtained with the right professional approach and then the processing of such evidence

To date I have worked on a number of cases on a drastically reduced rate or even in some cases on a no charge or pro bono rate.

What I have done to date? I have had some excellent results ranging from:

1. A person whom the CPS are now trying to get extradited to the UK

2. A judicial review of a case that collapsed six years ago

3. Brand new evidence in a case where police/CPS failed to obtain all the available evidence

4. Recognition of sexual abuse by the family of a deceased male who had for years ignored and shunned the survivor until my involve-ment in the case gathering evidence

All of the above, I worked either on a no charge or a drastically reduced (what they can afford) basis.

The big question: Where will your money be spent?

As time goes by, I am becoming more and more involved in this area of investigations to a point where if finances would allow, it would be my main area of investigation.

Sadly, I simply cannot financially afford for this to happen despite my passion to help those affected by their past ordeals.

In an ideal world I would aim to have a continuous pot of money to cov-er the following:

1. Vehicle running costs – currently I drive over 50,000 miles per year as I cover the whole of the UK

2. Fuel costs

3. Overnight stay costs B&Bs inexpensive hotels

4. Basic expenses covered

Where do I believe donations will come from?

1. A one-off donation or regular contribution from a company who would like to support such a cause

2. A one-off donation or regular contribution from a charity or organi-sation already operating in this field or an area of work closely linked

3. A one-off donation or regular contribution from a benefactor who feels they can help

4. A one-off donation from any member of the public no matter how small

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for taking time to read this page and if you can help brilliant, if you can’t please do share it wherever you feel you can.

Thank you

Mike
