Dear all,
Our lovely, handsome, fun, clever, characterful Dad, Michael Oates (Mike), passed away suddenly on Wednesday 18th December at 3pm peacefully in hospital with family around him. We are all shocked as we are sure you all are at this very sad news. We have been overwhelmed by the kind messages of support and love you have all given to us at this upsetting time. Dad was a real character and on speaking to you all the most common words you all describe him as are generous, kind and caring. Dad helped a lot of people in his life with advice and support and we would like to pay this back with a beautiful funeral befitting of a man that did so much for others. As the loss of Dad came so suddenly we are raising funds to give him the best send off possible. There will be many people there from the rally days, music industry and of course his property business, friends and family alike so we would like to make his funeral one to remember as we will remember him.
Dad touched so many people's lives and we have heard many wonderful (and interesting!) stories over the past few days which have all given us great comfort.
Any money we raise above the target will be donated to the charity Mind, in Dad's memory.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your kind words at such a difficult time and hope we can raise as much money as possible to send him off in true Dad style.
