Story

Poverty isn't new. But it's reported that the use of food banks has risen by 325% during the lockdown.

While it's appalling that food banks even exist in 2020, the fact is they do. While they are needed, myself and my Labour colleagues will continue to do what we can to ensure Norfolk residents have a framework of support and advice they can rely on.

Since the beginning of the lockdown in March 2020, Norfolk Labour Group have been working with food banks and community groups to support their work providing food and essential supplies to families.

I want to continue the achievements of the Norfolk Labour Group through our Food Out Friday in raising funds to support our vital work, while also raising awareness of an issue which affects our communities across the county.

I will be running 3.6km every day for 36 days, starting on Sunday 14th June 2020 and finishing on 20th July 2020, the day of Norfolk County Council's Annual General Meeting.
