Story
May is Melanoma Awareness Month
On May 16th and 17th, a team of incredible riders will be cycling 160 miles from Segedunum to Carlisle and back again to raise money for Melanoma-Me Foundation — a charity that has become a lifeline for me as I live with Stage 4 melanoma.
This event is being organised by Chris Errington, Neil Wallbank and Marc Hopkinson — charity rider extraordinaires. The team have been a huge support to our family. Their dedication, kindness, and determination mean more than they probably realise.
I won’t be riding, but I will be waiting at the finish line back at Segedunum to welcome the team home. That moment matters to me. It’s my way of standing with them, with this cause, and with everyone affected by melanoma — including me. My husband and son will be joining the ride along with other special guests at different times on the journey to makes this a memorable and cherished event.
Melanoma‑Me has supported me with compassion, understanding, and the kind of emotional care you don’t expect to need until life changes in an instant. They are a North East based organisation doing vital work to support people affected by melanoma. They provide free counselling, education, early detection awareness, and compassionate support for individuals and families. This ride helps them continue that work for others like me.
If you can donate or share, it would mean so much.
Every mile they ride helps someone facing melanoma feel less alone.
Thank you xxx
