I've raised £1000 to To help Tom Woodley on his road to recovery.

Hi everyone, thank you for taking a moment to look at this page. I hope this page will unite our efforts to show our support for Tom, Hannah and family. As most people who know and love this family, you'll know Tom has been dealt a brutally hard card in recent weeks.
Tom was taken seriously ill a month ago. Four weeks on, and he is still in hospital. This week he shared how things were going -
‘Following nearly 4 weeks in hospital people keep asking my lovely Hannah Brewer and my staff at the pub how I'm doing so I thought I'd give you an update.
I am being treated for Neuromyelitis optica of which I have been told there is a 50/50 chance of a full recovery, I will take 50% any day. Basically I still can't move anything from my chest down and with very limited use of my hands just thumb and fore finger.
I have had 7 blood plasma treatments and I'm on high dosage steroids to reduce spinal swelling. Regular physio is helping to retrain nerve damage and muscle loss. I currently await a PET scan before being referred to a national lead expert in Oxford university.
As we enter lockdown number two today please remember to follow the rules and enjoy the company that surrounds you; I've been on lockdown now for a week already with no family no loved ones who I miss terribly and there's no sign of being able to see them soon, so what better drive and motivation do I need to get myself out of here!!!
Your on going support that you are giving my family and I is tremendous and will never be forgotten thank you; I enjoy your messages please keep them coming they help me through my day. ‘
In times like these, we need to rally around and do all we can to help. Tom has always strived to help others, and now we need to strive to help him.
This is inevitably going to be one hell of a fight for Tom. He will need a number of different forms of support, both physically and mentally to recover from this illness. His precious family will need to be carefully looked after too.
By raising some money for these guys, perhaps we can all help, in some small way. Any money we raise between us can be used to help in anyway Tom and Hannah decide; hopefully it will bring some kind of relief.
Please see our Facebook event page (link: https://fb.me/e/4jDEDBE8s ), and get involved in our virtual fundraising event: 'Miles for Tom'.
Everyone is invited to get involved in this event. If you are able to make a donation too, it will be very much appreciated.
Best wishes to you all,
Alice
