Story

At Milford-On-Sea Primary School, we have recently changed our Early Reading Program to ‘Little Wandle’. This is a great new program for phonics and Early Reading that not only includes whole class teaching but catch-up intervention for children that fall behind. This includes struggling readers that are in KS2 as well.

In order to teach this, we need to ensure that we have enough decodable reading books for children at all different phonic levels, so that they can have class readers and books for small group catch up. Having enough decodable books for children is so important for their reading development.

Unfortunately, these books don’t come cheap and we don’t have a huge amount of budget for it. Ideally, we need 12 sets of books to cover all the classes and some extra so children can have them as home readers.

Please help this cause if you can.

We are pleased to announce that we raised a fantastic £2000 over both the School Disco and Quiz Night which will go straight towards The Little Wandle Project. We have the Christmas Fair coming up and hope to raise at least £2000. With the £310 already donated, that leaves us with about another £800 to raise. Please help us to do this!

We have installed the container which now houses all of the Sports Equipment which we are still fundraising for through various different projects and activities but we have changed the fundraiser onto our next project which is decodable reading books for all children throughout the school.

We have had a few donations which has given us a good start to our fundraising. Thank you to everybody that has donated so far. PLEASE spread the word. The new storage container is very very much needed to securely store all of our Sports Equipment. Sport us a vital part of the children's curriculum. Let's keep going.......
