Story
Founded in 2015, MILK is a social enterprise set up to empower and support refugee and migrant women living in Glasgow. We run a small café (currently closed) in the Southside of the city where we aim to provide a safe and welcoming environment that promotes integration within the community.
During the first lockdown we started providing hot meals to a local hotel housing homeless people. Over six months, we cooked and delivered over 5000 hot meals, without any state funding or support. This came to an abrupt end when the council (finally) hired a contract caterer to feed the hotel residents... Read our blog on our website for more details.
With the help of a few generous donors, we have been able to continue this work within our community, providing meals to local families identified by St. Bride's primary school. We'd like to continue to provide these families with a weekly meal for 4, and expand upon this to include more families in our neighbourhood.
Donations cover the cost of sourcing healthy ingredients, packaging supplies and fuel for our delivery van.
£5 provides one large hot meal (main, side and home delivery).
£10 provides two large hot meals.
£20 feeds a family of four+.
